That same year, she started her career as a Nurse Case Manager, leveraging her expertise to support patients through challenging medical transitions. In 2020, Ms. Miklovaite achieved her Certified Case Manager (CCM).In 2017 she took on a pivotal role as Ombudsman (also known as FRSA or FRO) for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) in San Francisco, California. She worked closely with service members and families at the facility, assisting them with needs as well as advocating for military members medical care locally in civilian medical world due to lack of military facilities within appropriate range. During this time, she discovered a significant gap in the Transition Assistance Program (TAPS) process—a lack of guidance in filing for benefits often left service members with insufficient or no disability ratings. Recognizing the vital role these benefits play in ensuring a smooth transition to civilian life, Ms. Miklovaite committed herself to addressing this unmet need.
In addition to her advocacy work, Ms. Miklovaite is actively engaged in the health and wellness of military personnel. She currently trains cycling at the Joint Base on Oahu, Hawaii and volunteers at military community events. She is also certified in Critical Incident Stress Management, further showcasing her commitment to supporting service members’ physical and emotional well-being.
To better serve military personnel, she pursued advanced certifications, including becoming a Legal Nurse Consultant (LNC) in 2024, and earning Healthcare Compliance Certification (CHC) in 2024 at Drexel University Kline School of Law. Armed with her expanded skills set, Ms. Miklovaite founded SUM Health Impact, LLC a service-driven organization dedicated to helping exiting service members secure the benefits they have earned for their service. SUM Health Impact provides personalized assistance to ensure that transitioning military personnel and their families are set up for success in civilian life.
